Photo description:
WHATS UP, JAMES? Its spring, when a young amateur hydrologists fancy turns to river levels. The absence of flooding this year means Winnipeg is bound to see a riverwalk sooner than usual. Right now, the Red is sitting a foot and below the riverwalk. More precipitation and the Assiniboine basin crest may result in it getting submerged, but this is shaping to be the best year in a while if the weather co-operates. A pair of Canada geese tread on what will soon be open water at the Forks/Assinaboine River Tuesday. See Bart Kives story. March 24, 2015 - (Phil Hossack / Winnipeg Free Press)
