Winnipeg Free Press News

Winnipeg Free Press Store
MIKE DEAL / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS Winnipeg Speaks In reply to the question, "What is the most important issue for you that needs to be addressed in the upcoming provincial election?" Evan Martin, says, "I think we need more resources around the city and greater Manitoba for mental health issues, for teens and adults alike. We've seen a lot of suicides lately and we need more outlets to discuss things like this openly and there shouldn't so much of a stigma around mental health. We should treat it just like any other illness and it shouldn't be shunned in the community. I think we need more acceptance and I think they should open up more resource centres where people can go and talk about this, so we can try to end what's been going on because it's really awful seeing names popup in the news that shouldn't be." 160315 - Tuesday, March 15, 2016
