Winnipeg Free Press News

Winnipeg Free Press Store
Artists Suzanne Barrow (up in truck), and Carleigh Duncan-Doyle are flanked by firefighters (left) Keith Scott and Ryan Whitely(right). (from Press release) Get a sneak preview of what happens when local artists put their talent to work and turn well-used firefighter helmets into works of art for the Firefighters Burn Fund. Weeks ago, artists adopted helmets that have been taken out of service after being used by firefighters on the job. The artists return them today transformed into works of art. The helmets are unpacked and put on display from 10:30 a.m. to noon today in preparation for the launch of the Burn Fund Silent Auction Fundraiser starting this evening. Media are invited to get a sneak peak at what happens when firefighters and artists get together for a good cause.
