WAYNE GLOWACKI / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS  About 100 people demonstrated in front of the Manitoba Legislative building Friday demanding the Canadian government curb aid to Ethiopia’s regime because of human rights abuses including killings, torturing and mass jailing of Oromo people in that country.  At issue is the regime’s treatment of the Oromo people, Ethiopia’s largest ethnic group, one facing eviction and relocation as the authoritarian government looks to expand the capital's administrative control into the Oromia region, displacing Oromo farmers. The Manitoba Oromo Community sent letters to Premier Brian Pallister and Daniel Blaikie,MP. calling for action to bring this issue to the provincial and federal government level.  August 19 2016
