Rhonda Snow a farmer from Fort Frances Ontario holds back tears as she says goodbye to half of her rare endangered breed of small horses known as Ojibway ponies at the Grunthal Livestock Auction Mart on Saturday. Snow was told to sell the horses and ponies to cover her financial responsiblities as part of the divorce.

The Ojibway ponies, which once roamed the wilds from Fort Frances to Minnesota, are now rare because of technological changes in agriculture that left them less relevant. There are said to be fewer than 50 breeding Ojibway ponies alive in the world.
