College of Nursing Pinning Ceremony for 2017 Bachelor of Nursing Graduating Class. More than 100 of Manitoba’s newest nurses were formally welcomed into the profession on Thursday, Oct. 19 at the University of Manitoba College of Nursing’s annual Pinning Ceremony, at The Great Hall, University College, Fort Garry Campus. Organized by the Nursing Students’ Association, the Pinning Ceremony is a symbolic welcoming of newly graduated nurses to the profession. Participants recite the University of Manitoba Bachelor of Nursing Pledge and each new graduate receives an official pin from the College of Nursing, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, recognizing their initiation into the brotherhood and sisterhood of nurses. Bev O’Connell, Dean, College of Nursing, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, grad Alex Rempel, and Terri Ashcroft, associate dean, undergraduate of the College of Nursing gets a photo taken at the ceremony.
