Trina  Oustrun aunt of 3yera old Cheveyo wjho's mother Chatell Chornoby who died from leukemia helps his aunt register and take swab samples of newly registered donours at the Aboriginal Centre today. Minister of Children and Youth Opportunities Kevin Chief along with the MB Health , and CancerCare are partnering to aid a One Match program to create a stem cell registry called Chantell's Promise to help identify aboriginal donors . Aboriginal donors  lined up to give mouth swabs and register . There are 13 aboriginal  patients in need of a stem cell donation currently in Canada.Chantelle Chornoby was recognized by the National Aboriginal Role Model Program in June 2009. At the time of the ceremony, she was undergoing treatment for leukemia and was unable to attend the gala. After fighting the disease for many years, Chantelle passed away on May 9, 2010 at the Health Science Centre in Winnipeg, MB.-new donours registered at the Aboriginal Centre today in Wpg.
