Winnipeg Free Press News

Winnipeg Free Press Store
Terminally ill Susan Griffiths spends her last days in her home with family and friends before leaving Winnipeg for the last time to board a flight to Europe. By the end of April she will have had an assisted suicide. Photos are of her home life including taking her pills every few hours, using icepacks for the pain, wearing tight stockings for her low blood pressure and loss of strength. She wrote letters Parliament to advocate for right to die laws. Susan gets ready for bed on her second last night in Winnipeg with her nightie on, the same nightie that she will wear when she dies. Her reflection is seen in a picture of a doorway hanging on her bedroom wall. See Lindor' Reynolds story. Part 3 Photography Ruth Bonneville Ruth Bonneville / Winnipeg Free Press)
