Joseph Keeper, who was born in Norway House holds a photo taken by Mary Bruce in the Manitoba Community on the East SHore of Lake WInnipeg between 1929 and 1032 when she was a "Matron" at the residential School located there. An exhibition of her work was unveiled at the U of W Archives as part of Artsfest 2013. (See release) Joseph is the father of Tina Keeper, and his father was one of two aborigionals who competed in the 1912 Olympics and placed in the 10,000 meter run. He's holding a hand painted photo of two canadian air force Vickers amphibious aircraft in the community. He remembers seeing the planes there regularly.
