The scuptor was James Earle Farmer and the bronze was modelled after Captain Wynn Bagnall a BMO staff member and member of the 58th Field Artillery.The uniform is in error because the American sculptor did not have an example of a Canadian uniform to model the bronze after so an American uniform with boot style and a slightly different cut. The design was a highly acclaimed design in its time.
