Winnipeg Free Press News

Winnipeg Free Press Store
December 24, 2013 - 131224 - In the West Broadway neighbourhood Tuesday, December 24, 2013 members of West Broadway Community Ministry stop at Kelly Ross' (R) house and reenact the biblical story when characters Mary and Joseph knock on doors and look for a place to stay. Members of West Broadway Community Ministry and its three supporting churches (Young United, Hope Mennonite and All Saints Anglican) went out on Christmas Eve in search of affordable housing for Jesus. In the Mexican tradition of La Posada they knocked on doors in search of a room but were turned away at each one. This year there was a political twist to the proceedings focusing on the lack of housing for the poor in Manitoba. JOHN WOODS / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS
