Hundreds of  friends, family and supporters of Kendra McBain took part in the 6th annual Kendra’s Walk starting at St. John’s-Ravenscourt School Tuesday. Kendra,15, was a St. John’s-Ravenscourt student and was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer, she decided to raise money to create a special place just for teens at CancerCare Manitoba. The inaugural walk took place on May 29, 2009 and to date, Kendra’s Walk has raised more than $650,000.00. All funds raised continue to support CancerCare Manitoba’s research for teens living with cancer and the room for teenagers to relax and get away from the stresses of their illness. Kendra graduated from St. John’s-Ravenscourt School in June 2009 and passed away in December 2009 at the age of 18. See Release.  Wayne Glowacki / Winnipeg Free Press May 13 2014
