Hundreds of friends, family and supporters of Kendra McBain took part in the 6th annual Kendra’s Walk starting at St. John’s-Ravenscourt School Tuesday. Kendra,15, was a St. John’s-Ravenscourt student and was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer, she decided to raise money to create a special place just for teens at CancerCare Manitoba. The inaugural walk took place on May 29, 2009 and to date, Kendra’s Walk has raised more than $650,000.00. All funds raised continue to support CancerCare Manitoba’s research for teens living with cancer and the room for teenagers to relax and get away from the stresses of their illness.
