Matthias Laucht, who fled East Germany in 1953 and came to Canada with this parents at the age of four stands onstage looking up at the "house" as he and some three dozen refugees from around the world rehearse for the upcoming opera production of Fidelio. A second refugee Quesney Ramazani Buledi was unable to be at the Concert Hall for the rehearsal due to changed working hours. See Carol Sanders story.
