The University of Manitoba Underwater Scuba Team play scrimmage games of underwater football with the Independents and the Saskatoon Seals at the U of M pool Saturday leading up to the World Championship round robin tournament on Sunday. The full contact, underwater sport which originated in 1967 at the U of M, is played almost exclusively underwater with a negatively buoyant ball; the only time the ball can come to the surface is to score. The tournament is open to the public to watch and takes place on Sunday 1pm - 4pm at the U of M pool. Anyone interested in more information on the unique underwater sport can contact Keith Peters at keithpeters.com@gmail.com Standup photo Feb 14, 2015 Ruth Bonneville / Winnipeg Free Press
