Preston Heinbignerճ family sits in the gallery along with firefighters as he is recognized during Wednesday afternoonճ sitting of the legislative assembly. 

Waverley MLA David Pankratz, the NDPճ deputy house leader, reads a member statement in honour of Heinbigner  to advocate for better mental health support for first responders and lays a wreathe in the house in his honour.  

After the reading Preston Heinbignerճ pregnant wife, Shayda Tashakor, walks down the grand staircase of the Legislative Building escorted by Premier Wab Kinew and MLA David Pankratz,  along with 200 firefighters and rescue personal.  The group along with family members and friends made their way  to the Manitoba Workers Memorial in Memorial Park for a short ceremony.
