WAYNE GLOWACKI / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS The newly constructed Annabella river access walkway to the Red River that runs off of the bicycle path near Curtis St. officially opened Tuesday. Seated on the tyndall stone steps are artists and area residents Louis Bako, right, who designed the walkway and Jordan Van Sewell who pitched the idea to politicians and eventually the Manitoba Gov't and the City of Winnipeg invested $60,700 in the project. The funding is a Building Communities Initiative funded by the province and the city to support community revitalization. The walkway will give Point Douglas residents year round access to the river. see release. July 26 2016
