Demonstrators would be grabbed and thrown out of the way of the moving group and the next RCMP ,one using a black jack , stepped into the open spot. The four RCMP got the diplomat into the car and speed off . I was shooting pictures just outside the moving wheel when I shot this picture . I came face to face with the RCMP wielding the blackjack , and his tie tucked into his suit jacket . Why he did't knock me down is a mystery . A scuffle broke out between a group of Sikh demonstrators protesting the Indian governments attack on the Golden Temple in Amritsar India at the rear of the Winnipeg Free Press 300 Carlton St and RCMP escorting Kalarickal Pranchu the Indian High Commissioner to Canada .The Acting High Commissioner was on an official visit to Manitoba , meeting premier Howard Pawley and then meeting the Wpg Free Press editorial board , the group first attached his car at the Manitoba Legislature then confronting him as he left the WFP meeting .
