Bison Safari at Fort Whyte.
Families enjoy an afternoon discovering how bison have shaped Canada’s history as they get up close in the safety of Fort Whytes tour bus.

Colin Dickson - 6yrs (orange shirt), his brother Sebastien Dickson - 3yrs get ready to board the tour bus with their friends Magnos Tremblay - 4yrs and Thorstein Tremblay - 2yrs along with their moms.

More Info:
See North America’s largest land mammal from just meters away interacting in their natural habitat in the safety of our comfortable, air-conditioned vehicles. These striking prairie beasts are stoic, hairy, and huge! A great family adventure getting up close into our prairie past and leaving knowing more about how bison have shaped Canada’s history.

The bison at Fort Whyte are thought to be some of the most genetically pure lines of bison left in existence in the world. Once numbering 30-60 million in North America, their numbers were decimated in just a few decades as expansion pressed westward.

Safari info:
Bison Safaris run four times weekly until the end of August, then once weekly during the month of September.
