RUTH BONNEVILLE / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS 49.8 column feature "The Blossom Boys" In 1953, a group of River Heights kids started playing football in what was then known as Blossom Park. The bonds they forged there have lasted a lifetime: this year, with all the surviving Blossom Boys nearly 80 years old, they're holding their 65th anniversary and what could be their final reunion. Some of the Blossom Boys gather together at Andrew Currie Park on Wellington Crescent, which used to be known as Blossom Park, on the bench that the group purchased for the park and next to the tree they planted in the park, Monday. Names: Dan Allen - green jacket, Ted Holland - blue sweatshirt & jeans, Don (Whitey) White - golf shirt, David (Cece) Curry - cream shorts and Gerry (Frank) Bolin - sunglasses. See Melissa Martin's column. August 27/18
