Nelson McIntyre high school teacher, Michelle Naomi, heads up the schools green team and has a vermicompost box in her classroom which she gets the kids involved in maintaining to compost waste.

The story is on vermicomposting which is essentially indoor composting using earth worms that are put in the compost bin with the food that is being composted and break the food down, and then the worm's waste is used as fertilizer.
