Photo description:
RUTH BONNEVILLE / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS Story, Serge Bouchard who is blind and uses a wheelchair is being hounded by city to have work done in his basement even though his 9-year-old house is targeted for demolition because its near Arlington Bridge. Photo of his wife, Makhady Boucher-Camara, holding laundry in her laundry room with the door to the left that was built too small to remove washer and dryer if necessary. The city wants the couple to change the size of the door (nine years after permit was taken out) to accommodate the possible future removal of the appliances. Changing the size of the door will cost the couple almost $10,000 due to changing plumbing stacks and wiring. See Carol Sanders story. April 4, 2019
