Local Homicide – Investigation/Arrest: 

Photo of  back lane behind the home of Calvin Chan (far right) and Dennis Lloyd Jr. Penner (left),  who were involved in a altercation  on Sunday afternoon behind Burrows at Albina Way, at the rear of Calvin Chan's garage.  The altercation between the two resulted in Chan being seriously injured and later  succumbing to his injuries.  

Dennis Lloyd Jr. Penner, a 24-year-old male who is a close neighbour of Chan's is charged with manslaughter and is detained in police custody.

On May 11, 2019, at approximately 12:00 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a rear lane near Burrows Avenue and Albina Way for a report of an assault. They located a suspect and an injured unresponsive maile.  The injured male identified as Calvin Chan, a 66-year-old male of Winnipeg. ended up succumbing to his injuries.
  
Members of the Homicide Unit continued with the investigation. It is believed that the deceased victim, along with a neighbour, had been attempting to back a boat into a garage when the suspect attempted to drive the rear lane and an argument ensued. The victim was subsequently assaulted and sustained a serious injury.
   
Dennis Lloyd Jr. Penner, a 24-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with Manslaughter and is detained in custody.
