RUTH BONNEVILLE / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS Local - Standup Nex - Gen Lifeline, Canadian Blood Services Blood Typing at U of W On Tuesday, Feb. 4, Canadian Blood Services and University of Winnipeg student volunteer recruitment teams hosted a blood typing event to encourage students to join Canada’s Lifeline and become blood donors. A booth was set up outside Riddell Hall, University of Winnipeg, where Students had their finger pricked in a safe, sterile process and learned their blood type and about the donation process. Students could also book appointments to give blood at the donation event. Over 110,000 new blood donors are needed in Canada this year to keep up with demand.
