LOCAL - forgotten remains

Cropo Funeral Chapel

Lee Barringer, general manager and licensed funeral director, embalmer at Cropo Funeral Chapel with new urns next to him on the table that people can purchase for the remains of their loved ones.

Subject: In his 30 years in the business, Lee Barringer says he's witnessed hundreds of customers leave behind their loved ones' cremated remains. The funeral director says the practice of putting off or leaving behind urns at funeral homes is becoming increasingly common. He points to a growing secular population, as well as the taboo subject of death and the cost of cremation.

Please note, it was NOT possible to get photos of the urns left behind in their funeral home due to privacy issues. These urns in the photo are new urns that are available for sale at Cropo Funeral Home.
