Myrna Driedger, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba (left), gets ready to record her message to the province for the virtual Legislative Building Open House, which will stream on Dec. 18. The annual Christmas Open House was supposed to be a grand affaire this year, as part of the Manitoba 150 celebrations. Snow tube races, and snowshoe obstacle courses were planned as well as performances by school choirs and bands. There was a plan to have over 300,000 LED lights illuminating the grounds with tours of the building. Now, the plan is for a virtual celebration with performances and messages from all the government parties. More details will be released by the end of the week.
