ENT - Tunngasugit Inuit Resource Centre

Portrait of Nikki Komaksiutiksak at
Tunngasugit Inuit Resource Centre. Also photo of her with supplies for Inuit families provided through the centre.

Subject: Nikki Komaksiutiksak is the executive director/co-founder of the Tunngasugit Inuit Resource Centre, which helps Inuit from up north transition to life in Winnipeg. The centre offers practical supports for things like housing and job placement, as well as cultural and language programming.

I spoke with Nikki about some of the challenges for folks moving into an urban centre and how she thinks the Qaumajuq gallery at the WAG will impact Winnipeg's growing urban Inuit population.

This is for our 49.8 on the opening of the Qaumajuq.
