RUTH BONNEVILLE / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS

local - Thorvaldson Care Centre

Photo of resident Joan Guttormisson, playing the piano for guests at centre.

Ben interviews residents thru a makeshift glassed in booth to keep a safe separation, about how they feel about receiving the vaccine and their overall views of the future.

Story: Last year, I (Ben) interviewed a woman named Joyce Church, a resident at the Thorvaldson Care Centre in Osborne Village. She said that things would get better as long as we hang in there and do the right thing by staying apart. Today, (Tuesday) all 65 residents at the centre are receiving their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, and the centre made it through one whole year with zero cases of COVID-19.

Story to run in Saturday’s paper.
