They were exploring the Winnipeg Citizens Hall of Fame in 2015 when they had an idea to submit a proposal for Marshall McLuhans bust to be included. Herbert Marshall McLuhan (1911-1980), a philosopher on media was born in Edmonton and raised in Winnipeg. He studied at the University of Manitoba before teaching as professor at universities in the United States and Canada.
