MIKE DEAL / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS One person was taken to hospital in unstable condition after a “serious assault” along Main Street on Wednesday afternoon. The Winnipeg Police Service said officers were sent to the scene at about 1:15 p.m. Wednesday. One person was taken into custody. A spokesman for the WPS said no other details were available Thursday. A vacant lot on the east side of Main Street between Sutherland and Jarvis avenues was blocked off with police tape, along with the sidewalk along Main, as of 8 a.m. Thursday. Police officers remained at the scene. 211028 - Thursday, October 28, 2021
