Follow from last yea's story, Bears on Barrington.

Self-taught snow sculptor, Vinora Bennett, carves away snow from a large snow block, turning it into an Inuit person sitting at a fishing hole, outside her home on Thursday.

Bennett started her passion for snow sculpturing last winter when the weather was milder making it easier to form and mold the snow into polo bears of all kinds which she displayed on her front yard, in trees, on the boulevards and in neighbourhood throughout the winter.

But her method of sculpting didn't work this winter due to the low moisture content in the snow due to the extremely cold weather. She decided to change her method from sculpting into carving her designs from snow blocks which she created with the help of her son and husband by shovelling in wheelbarrows full of snow from the neighbourhood into a wood frame and stomping on it until it was packed down tight. Within 24 hours she could remove the frame and have a solid block of snow to begin carving her designs. Not only is her new method create smoother, icing like, carvings. it is helping to clear the snow away from all her neighbours driveways.
