Photo description:
Former Brandon General Museum and Archives administrator Aly Wowchuk handles a bird study skin taken from a display case that holds dozens of similar speciments. A study skin is a zoological specimen prepared in a minimalistic way with the intent being to preserve the animal's skin, not the shape of the animal's body. The study skins are part of the B.J. Hales taxidermy collection currently on display at the museum's 9th Street location. (Matt Goerzen/The Brandon Sun)
