The public washroom slated for 715 Main was originally expected in December or January but now isn’t expected to open until March “because of material delays.” Wins Bridgman, the project’s architect, says large glass garage doors have been delayed, pushing the opening date back. He and Coun. Sherri Rollins say the project remains really important to provide vulnerable folks with access to washrooms. A city spokesperson says “the ongoing pandemic will affect nearly all city projects to varying degrees but those impacts will differ from project to project. Some construction materials may have longer order and delivery times than others. The city is regularly informing members of council about these delays with as much information as we have available to us. Delays are a major issue impacting the construction industry and city projects are experiencing that as a result.”
