LOCAL - school mental health

Portrait of Fiona England, Healthy Minds initiative specialist at Winnipeg School Division for story.

SCHOOL MENTAL HEALTH: While teachers have access to benefits, including counselling, many other K-12 workers have been left to grapple with pandemic anxieties more or less alone. A new program - the Care for All in Education Initiative (under the Canadian Association for Mental Health - Manitoba) aims to provide support. The CFA program has secured $500,000 from the province to support educator and school staff mental health, with real-time facilitators that can direct staff to available resources and strategies. Let's revisit the stark mental health stats among staff. 2020.
