ENT - warming huts

Photo of Angeleque Walter, one of the team of 4 sculptors working with Wanda Koop and Thom Fougere, puts some finishing touches on the design as media interviews the artists Friday.

Winnipeg artist Wanda Koop and EQ3 creative director and furniture designer Thom Fougere, who is also from Winnipeg, together designed Nix, which means snow in Latin. It was inspired by the beauty of a Winnipeg winter and snow as its main element.

Story: The Forks opens its annual showcase of award-winning warming hut designs along the Red and Assiniboine River this weekend. This year's creations include local and international teams and bring to life six innovative new Warming Huts during building blitz week. Winnipeggers will soon enjoy the public art additions to the Nestaweya River Trail presented by The Winnipeg Foundation as they join Warming Huts from years past.
