Dozens of people gathered for a bake sale to support Heape’s dreams of travelling to Australia to visit her aunt, see animals not available in Manitoba and swim in the Great Barrier Reef. Heape, who lives in The Pas with her family, was diagnosed with a brain tumour three years ago. After undergoing four rounds of chemotherapy, and eighteen rounds of radiation, doctors were able to eradicate the tumour but she still lives with health complications that affect her day to day life.
