LOCAL - Dawson Trail unveiling 

An unveiling ceremony of a new interpretive landmark on the Dawson Trail took place along the Seine River Parkway near Provencher Blvd. Wednesday. 

Pierrette Sherwood, Chair of the Dawson Trail Arts & Heritage Tour Initiative, along with supporters,  took part in unveilingl a new trail marker that designates the original western terminus of this first all-Canadian road to link the East and West built upon the First Nation trails thousands of years older.  

The Dawson Trail Commemorative Project is the culmination of a community-based, inter-regional initiative launched four years ago by volunteers of the Dawson Trail Arts and Heritage Tours with a goal to uncover and revive he rich history of the Dawson Trail in Manitoba.
