LOCAL STDUP - Fontaine Panel unveiled 

Students from Gonzaga Middle School along with community leaders and Theodore's spouse, Morgan Fontaine, take part in the unveiling of an interpretive panel at Theodore Niizhotay Fontaine park on Wednesday.  

The City of Winnipeg created an interpretive panel in commemoration of Theodore Niizhotay Fontaine which is located in the north east corner of the park on Wellington Crescent to bring awareness to the former site of the Assiniboia Indian Residential School, which was next to the park, on Academy Road.

The all-day ceremony started at sunrise, 5:30am and will end at sundown at approximately 9:00pm with ongoing activities that is open to all.
