Groups outside the meeting – mainly retirees - gathered around smart phones to watch it livestreamed. Richard Kuffner, a 75-year-old grain farmer in Springfield, says he feels betrayed by the new mayor Pat Therrien who he campaigned for on the promise he would shelve the Sio Silica project until it’s proven safe.
