MIKE DEAL / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS Pat Desautels (in yellow safety vest) with Wildlife Haven Rehabilitation Centre along with Manitoba Legislative building grounds and maintenance crews rescued some ducklings that got separated from their mother by the Manitoba Legislative building Wednesday morning. The crew first had to capture about 10 ducklings and then move them outside of a fenced in area that they couldn’t get out of on their own. They were set loose inside a small area so that their mother could come and get them. Then the reunited mother duck and her ducklings were herded towards the south grounds closer to the Assiniboine River. 230802 - Wednesday, August 02, 2023.
