Prior to that she lived in BC, where she worked as a paramedic, did some acting on the side. She took up singing after moving back to Winnipeg, where she largely grew up, in 2012. (She lost a daughter to brain cancer six years ago, was ready to pack it in, singing-wise, then decided she would be dishonouring her daughter's memory - she always encouraged her mom to follow her heart, so that's what she's doing w/the Carpenters tribute show ... ) See Dave's story August 18th, 2023
