Photo description:
BORIS MINKEVICH / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS 070708 Louis Grimaud has a dark Ivy green metallic 1951 Ford Custom sedan started out as a $55 car he purchased in 1966. From '67 to '69 it was completely dismantled and rebuilt as a mild custom. It runs a '57 "Thunderbird Special" 312 V8 with a ton of performance modifications and he raced it several times at Keystone/Bison Dragways. A true custom from the late '60s. You'll often hear the term "Shoebox Ford" it refers to the slab-sided Fords built from 1949 to 1951.
