RUTH BONNEVILLE / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS Local - Empty Lot A very large lot on the corner of London and Kimberley lays vacant after fire. A huge fire on Jan. 31, 2022 destroyed an apartment complex that was under construction at the corner of Kimberly Avenue and London Street. The blaze spread to a neighbouring condo complex. Some residents were out of their homes for 18 months. The apartment lot has been sitting empty and it's unclear if the owner is going to rebuild. Neighbours have complained about illegal dumping, the site not being secure and general safety concerns, given there is a big hole where an underground parking garage was being constructed.
