Katarina Ziervogel, a 27-year-old from Winnipeg with very little acting experience, made her small-screen debut on a pretty large scale – with a role in Marvel’s Disney+ series Echo. Ziervogel’s previous on-screen experience included some background acting, and a film she co-wrote with Madison Thomas – Finality of Dusk — has played major festivals. But Ziervogel was convinced to send in an audition after she saw a posting for the role of Taloa in Echo: they were looking for an Indigenous, deaf actor to take on the job.
