The two have been married since 1994, and met at the Kirkfield A&W on Portage Ave. Brenda worked there, and Ian was a regular. The two stopped into the location on their wedding day, and Root Bear the mascot came dressed as such at their wedding. This A&W was the first to open in Canada back in 1956 and Sunday March 28, 2015 was the last day of business. They are relocating to Portage & Sturgeon on April 9, 2015.
