JASON HALSTEAD / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS Members of the 49th Winnipeg Scout troop get started as more than 300 Scouts tested their survival skills in Scouts Canadas annual Klondike Derby on March 5, 2016, at Camp Amisk south of Winnipeg. Teams of six to eight Cub Scouts, Scouts, Girl Guides and Pathfinders pulled a Klondike-style sleigh over a 2.5-kilometre course through the woods, competing at tasks including fire lighting, a flood disaster scenario and a simulated ice rescue.
