Winnipeg Free Press Archives August 2, 1954 Red River Exhibition Here's a preview of chuck wagon outfits that go into action tonight at the Greater Winnipeg Exhibition and Stampede at Riel park. At left is the Carl Barrett outfit from Stettler, Alberta, with Hally (Wag) Walgenback driver. This outfit won the Canadian championship in 1953 for most money earned; second from left is the Walter Kane outfit of Winnipeg, with Slim Helme of Esterhazy, the driver. This outfit won the championship at Carman Saturday. At extreme right is Ray Stewart's Shetland Pony chuck wagon outfit from Melfort, Sask.
