RUTH BONNEVILLE / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS Photo of a crowded auction house at Grunthal Livestock Auction Mart Saturday where potential buyers and locals filled the seats with standing-room only left during auction of Rhonda Snow's rare Ojibway ponies on Saturday. Story is about Rhonda Snow, a farmer from Fort Frances who has about 50 small horses that are an endangered breed known as Ojibway ponies. She took half of them to the Grunthal Livestock Auction Mart on Saturday to sell the horses and ponies to cover her financial responsiblities as part of a divorce settlement. The Ojibway ponies, which once roamed the wilds from Fort Frances to Minnesota, are now rare because of technological changes in agriculture that left them less relevant. There are said to be fewer than 50 breeding Ojibway ponies alive in the world. See Bill Redekop story. Oct 14,, 2017
