In November 2018, Matthew and Jonathan Meikle came to the aid of a passenger on a City of Winnipeg transit bus who was being threatened by another passenger. Though successful in keeping their fellow passengers safe by removing the individual from the bus and restraining him until police arrived, Meikle was stabbed during the altercation and required stitches.
