LOCAL - U of M 140th Convocation

Amanda Fontes holds an eagle feather walks to the stage to receive her doctor of medicine degree at the 140th annual convocation of the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences in the Brodie Centre Atrium, University of Manitoba Bannatyne Campus on Thursday.  

She is one of 11 students who  self-declared Indigenous ancestry in her class of 109 graduates.  

Amanda Fontes also received the Manitoba Medical College Foundation Award (MMCF - Paul Nehra Convocation Prize in Family Medicine) which is awarded to a student who has demonstrated excellence in their performance during the Family Medicine/Public Health Clerkship rotation, and who has been accepted to post-graduate studies in Family Medicine for the next academic session.
