Photo description:
Scott Stephen, an historian at Parks Canada, showcases a few artifacts in the collections at the Parks Canada office in Winnipeg that were recovered from various digs at the forks and area. Drawer Pull (21K17F1-1): Recovered from North Point in1988 from the railway fill. This handle is plated with nickel. Whereas it was possible to make iron handles on site, the HBC would have had to import nickel artifacts. The design of the handle suggests that it was driven and clinched into the wood and its small size suggests it could have been a desk drawer handle. 150924 - Thursday, September 24, 2015 - MIKE DEAL / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS
